Friday, June 29, 2007 Card-i-cature a week... Week 26 - Harriet Harman (the Queen of Hearts) ![]() Halfway there, and only my first Queen. Although Harriet Harman is apparently Queen of Labour party members' Hearts, having being elected Deputy Leader of the Labour party this week, her reward from new Prime Minister Gordon Brown was not Deputy PM, but, er, Leader of the House of Commons (with Minister for Women thrown into the bargain). Week 25 - Salman Rushdie (the 6 of Clubs) ![]() Nearly half-way through the deck now, and this week it's author of the 'Satanic Verses' Salman Rushdie, who was awarded a knighthood this week. This has, of course, upset a lot of Muslims, in particular Iran, but for some reason, no-one appeared to have seen this coming... Week 23 - Vladimir Putin (the Ace of Spades) ![]() Getting in a day early for a change (as I'm off on my hols tomorrow), here's Bush-baiting Russiam Premier Vladimir Putin, who this week announced that Russian nukes were again being targeted at European targets in response to the USA's anti-missle system. Sounds like there'll be a chilly, Cold War-esque atmosphere at this week's G8.
