Card-i-cature a week... Week 36 - Luciano Pavarotti (the King of Diamonds) 


And now for week 36, and operatic tenor, Luciano Pavarotti, famous for his signature piece, Nessun Dorma which was used by the BBC for their coverage of the Italian World Cup in 1990, died this week from kidney failure at the age of 71.

Apologies once more for the second brief hiatus recently. Anyway, retrospectively back again with this card for the week ending 24 August - German chancellor Angela Merkel, who was in Britain this week partly for a meeting with Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and partly to attend the England v Germany game at Wembley Stadium (England lost...)
