Welcome to the website of Alex Hughes Cartoons and Caricatures. I'm a cartoonist and caricaturist from Birmingham in the UK. Scattered across these pages are examples of my work, published and unpublished, from political cartoons to personal caricatures, comic strips to magazine illustrations. Please feel free to have a good look around. My services are available for personal caricatures, on-the-spot caricature or any other cartoon, caricature or illustation work, and many of the cartoons on the site are available for sale. On this page I'll keep you up to date with news and developments, and elsewhere in this section there's a site map, the all-important frequently asked questions list, and a page of useful links.

Card-i-cature a week... Week 13 - Gerry Adams and Ian Paisley (and Illustration Friday - Snap)

OK, slight change of my own rules this week - it's the 9 of Hearts, and it's Gerry Adams and Ian Paisley, after their hell-freezing-over-style meeting at Stormont earlier this week. Above is Ian Paisley, and below is Gerry Adams (or the other way around...)

p.s. I'm also putting this in for Illustration Friday this week. The theme is Snap, and, well, you can't pass up a card game theme...

You're an ace.

I like greenie at top. When brownie is up top, his expressive noggin tends to dominate the scene. This is very fun illustration. Really dig the card theme.

Card-i-cature a week... Week 6 - Richard Branson (the 9 of Clubs)

For this week's card, it's the first Club, for Richard Branson, who, along with Al Gore announced a £12.5m prize for the scientist that discovers a method of removing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.
...er, well it would be. Blogger is playing up again, so here it is on my other blog

Edit: fixed now!
