Welcome to the website of Alex Hughes Cartoons and Caricatures. I'm a cartoonist and caricaturist from Birmingham in the UK. Scattered across these pages are examples of my work, published and unpublished, from political cartoons to personal caricatures, comic strips to magazine illustrations. Please feel free to have a good look around. My services are available for personal caricatures, on-the-spot caricature or any other cartoon, caricature or illustation work, and many of the cartoons on the site are available for sale. On this page I'll keep you up to date with news and developments, and elsewhere in this section there's a site map, the all-important frequently asked questions list, and a page of useful links. If you're interested, or you'd just like to comment on the site, please get in touch here or e-mail me direct at alex.hughes@alexhughescartoons.co.uk. Shrewsbury International Cartoon Festival Just finished my (admittedly delayed) submissions for an exhibition at this year's Shrewsbury International Cartoon Festival, where the theme this year is Art. The title of the exhibition is 'But is it Art?' I thought I'd share what I've done with you in the meantime. All the cartoons are available for sale (as are many more on this site), and the festival runs from 18th to the 20th April 2008. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: alastair darling, david cameron, george w bush, gordon brown, shrewsbury, tony blair Posted at 7:47 PM | Comments (1): Links to this post: Tuesday, April 18, 2006 Shewsbury Cartoon Festival 2006 ![]() Well, it's here again - Shrewsbury Cartoon Festival kicks off this weekend (21st - 23rd April). I'll be there, and this year I've also got a few cartoons in an exhibition: Europe - The Big Idea is on at the Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery (1st April - 1st May, and the exhibition is free Saturday and Sunday). I'll also be drawing caricatures in the Square on Saturday 10:30 to 4pm, and there's much more on elsewhere in town. Oh, and for all you cartoonists who are going - it's my birthday on Saturday as well... Labels: shrewsbury Posted at 6:32 PM | Comments (0): Post a Comment Links to this post: |
