Welcome to the website of Alex Hughes Cartoons and Caricatures. I'm a cartoonist and caricaturist from Birmingham in the UK. Scattered across these pages are examples of my work, published and unpublished, from political cartoons to personal caricatures, comic strips to magazine illustrations. Please feel free to have a good look around. My services are available for personal caricatures, on-the-spot caricature or any other cartoon, caricature or illustation work, and many of the cartoons on the site are available for sale. Card-i-cature a week... Week 31 - Chris Langham (the Six of Diamonds)
...and bringing us right up to date we have the 6 of diamonds with disgraced comic actor Chris Langham, star of TV's 'The Thick of It' and former writer for the Muppet Show, who this week was convicted of child porn offences, which he had been downloading for 'research' for a character.

Card-i-cature a week... Week 28 - Jacqui Smith
Well, I've been a bit remiss in posting cards recently, so here's a four week catch-up, starting with week ending 14th July and newly appointed Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, who revealed this week she had smoked cannabis as a student at university.

Card-i-cature a week... Week 25 - Salman Rushdie (the 6 of Clubs)
Nearly half-way through the deck now, and this week it's author of the 'Satanic Verses' Salman Rushdie, who was awarded a knighthood this week. This has, of course, upset a lot of Muslims, in particular Iran, but for some reason, no-one appeared to have seen this coming...
