In November of 2004 I won a a fortnight in South Africa to draw political cartoons on an exchange run by the British Council. Myself and four other British cartoonists (Matt Buck, Lou McKeever, Tanya Tier and Matt Lawrence) visited Cape Town and Johannesburg, while five South African cartoonists (Bethuel Mangena, Bhekani Thwala, Christopher Beukes, Themba Siwela and John Curtis) got to visit Britain to do the same for British politics. There should be an exhibition (both in Britain and South Africa) and book to follow soon. On these pages you will find some of my sketches and cartoons I drew during and upon my return to Britain. For more information on the trip, have a look at my blog from the trip. | ![]() |
