Ha! My combi-boiler has finally given up the ghost! I had an central heating engineer around today to have a look at sorting out the hot-water problem, he took one look at it and slapped a condemned notice on it. So now I not only have no hot water but no heating as well. Oh, well, hopefully I can get something sorted before the end of the month, but it's going to mean a good grand or more cash that I didn't want to spend. Valentines Day again...
Ho, hum. Here it is again. All I need is another Valentine's Day, once again on my own. Oh, well, still desperately seeking lodger as well, nearly had one, but a combination of splitting up with his girlfriend and a job offer in Ireland put paid to that one, so the room's back on the market again, although I've had a couple of people interested in seeing it, and it's not vacant until the end of February, so all isn't lost yet. My boiler's still playing up, and I might have to go into hospital soon to have my sinuses sorted and my nose straightened.. we'll have to see what the specialist has to say.posted by Alex at 11:30 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2004 |
On a more cheerful note, went down to London on Tuesday to see cartoon legend and reknowned jazz clarinetist Trog (aka Wally Fawkes) play at the White Hart on Drury Lane. I was kinda hoping that a few fellow cartoonists were going to show up, but it was left to myself and fellow Tribune cartoonist Matt Buck to keep the inky end up there.
